Always have. I've been a doodler for as long as I can remember.<br />
<br />
I remember making BIG scribbles on pages and then filling in all the holes with patterns and colors when I was in kindergarten. I did pages and pages of them. Come to find out...those things are called "Zentangles" now. Guess I was a head of my time. LOL<br />
<br />
Well, now, my doodles and scribbles have evolved. I would hope so after 50 years. (See some of my "zentangles" from a few years ago...<a href="http://thismonkeyknits.blogspot.com/2009/10/my-latest-obsession.html" target="_blank">click here</a>.)<br />
<br />
I've been seeing lots of hand turkeys this week...guess cuz it's Thanksgiving time. DUH! LOL :)<br />
It made me want to do one. So here is my interpretation of a hand turkey.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
Ain't it cool!!!! I see a series developing. <br />
<br />
Gobble! Gobble! Hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving!!<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I got a custom order off of a <a href="http://thismonkeyknits.blogspot.com/2013/07/flying-high.html" target="_blank">recent baby gift</a> I made for a coworker. She wanted the aviator hat plus a pair of bloomers/diaper cover with an anchor appliqued on the butt. It turned out SOOOOO cute!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEht5Wu7tPS_7IUoFSKatWQgPV8bGWqfUK0isFQm6nsU_kLbxQNHmgOc8SYw3uv1PwxbdFCphnMKR037mp994y0-I_T_6LSUhydtyc8dvN1Lhc6QaYZmWQBa8oCr2Traob_b_LHbuF_WUZM/s1600/Navy_04.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div>
<br />
Just as before, I used pattern from <a href="http://thesequinturtle.blogspot.com/2013/03/naptime-day-10-free-crochet-baby.html" target="_blank">The Sequin Turtle</a>. Then I found <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/widdershins-soaker" target="_blank">Widdershins Soaker</a> by Sabra. It's a really cute and easy pattern. And I used the same yarn as before... For the hat Red Heart Soft in navy plus good ol' Lion Brand Homespun in cream. I think it looks just like the fleece lined hat. Then I found the wooden buttons at Hobby Lobby.<br />
<br />
The size was for 0-3 month old baby. I did shorten the butt just a little. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTgFgwAPUJGdtvIsFtbEqNcGB1figomi1K3L-bAx1UIFj-5oG23e9NBIpzVTdA2YE-vDSw93vHNGOUrLpJNjpiT0h8on9dLGB2gtoJN7LxbG5cYxF4E_Xakk5Q3o5tMZZ-TbZXvADUqXs/s1600/domonavy01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTgFgwAPUJGdtvIsFtbEqNcGB1figomi1K3L-bAx1UIFj-5oG23e9NBIpzVTdA2YE-vDSw93vHNGOUrLpJNjpiT0h8on9dLGB2gtoJN7LxbG5cYxF4E_Xakk5Q3o5tMZZ-TbZXvADUqXs/s400/domonavy01.jpg" width="333" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The bloomers could stand on their own...Looks like Domo is ready to join the US Navy!!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQbyKAkzsPeHrB8Htr3ulue2YPK4sbECWsTRhlruT86LQi3sabszU4mu0fGvI28o186BU-1Df8dXnRUZHGZ4qccNcm69WtJg6CjuCOuJSkYC2FChyJ_xeSnWF71UKJ8RLWwE4ebWjomvg/s1600/domonavy01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div>
<br />
The anchor...well that's a different story. I looked around for patterns. Found some but they put them together in pieces. I HATE TAILS! I want as few tails to weave in as possible. So...I started winging it.<br />
<br />
Here's my crochet applique pattern for the anchor that I created as I went.<br />
<br />
<strong><span style="color: #e69138;">Crochet Anchor Applique</span></strong><br />
<br />
<strong>For the top loop:</strong><br />
Chain 8. Slip stitch into first chain making a circle.<br />
<br />
<strong>For the shank:</strong><br />
Chain 10 off the circle. SC into second stitch from the hook.<br />
SC 7 more stitches up the chain toward the circle.<br />
<br />
<strong>For the arms:</strong><br />
Chain 6.<br />
SC into second stitch from the hook.<br />
SC 3 more stitches toward the shank.<br />
SS into back of shank.<br />
Chain 6.<br />
SC into second stitch from hook.<br />
SC 3 more stitches back toward the shank.<br />
Now you have the top cross arms.<br />
<br />
You can either slip stitch toward the bottom or cut yarn and SS into second stitch from the bottom. If you cut, leave a SUPER long tail to use to sew onto bloomers.<br />
<br />
<strong>For the longer bottom arms:</strong><br />
Chain 10.<br />
SC into second stitch from the hook<br />
SC 8 more sttitches back toward the shank.<br />
SS into back of shank.<br />
Chain 10.<br />
SC into second stitch from the hook<br />
SC 8 more sttitches back toward the shank again.<br />
SS into back of shank.<br />
Tie off with a SUPER long tail.<br />
<br />
Use tails to sew onto bloomers or crocheted piece. Be sure to keep top arms and shank straight. Give the bottom arms a curve.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I easily finished the aviator hat from <a href="http://thesequinturtle.blogspot.com/2013/03/naptime-day-10-free-crochet-baby.html" target="_blank">The Sequin Turtle</a>. It is TOO cute!! I couldn't help myself after I finished the <a href="http://thismonkeyknits.blogspot.com/2013/07/off-we-go-into-wild-blue-yonder.html" target="_blank">airplane</a> from <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/avpatternshop?ref=top_trail" target="_blank">AVPatternShop</a>. I started the hat Sunday evening and had it finished before I went to bed three hours later. All I had to do was go get buttons. You know...it's hard finding the right button for projects but I think I nailed it with this one.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

For the hat I used the same Red Heart Soft in navy I used on the airplane plus good ol' Lion Brand Homespun in cream. I think it looks just like the fleece lined hat. Then I found the wooden buttons at Hobby Lobby.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The pattern is fabulous! Easy to follow and turns out great. I might have made the earflaps a little longer. I even toyed around with the idea of making them long enough to button under the chin or flip on top of the hat. But I like how the do they're on thing.</div>

<br />
I made a stuffie! I think it turned out great.<br />
<br />
A coworker is having a baby boy in August. She's decorating his room navy and dark red and in airplanes. So I decided to make him a stuffed airplane and an aviator hat.<br />
<br />
I got the airplane pattern from <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/107733891/small-plane-crochet-pdf-pattern?ref=shop_home_active" target="_blank">AVPatternShop </a>on etsy and the aviator hat from <a href="http://thesequinturtle.blogspot.com/2013/03/naptime-day-10-free-crochet-baby.html" target="_blank">The Sequin Turtle. </a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizKKYjqUDxcQEA5ml1yzghkYvd4i3qM78gk9Gppfq5UkdTJMGUfgNBCaM3scVOGYNNVxrkN8Z7t6mrAWmhyphenhyphen5iI4OVY9nVZXuc7mJNyLgVxO9QxNvO9lDdZBdAWoZId0yKrfuNzJ1n9T6A/s1600/airplane03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizKKYjqUDxcQEA5ml1yzghkYvd4i3qM78gk9Gppfq5UkdTJMGUfgNBCaM3scVOGYNNVxrkN8Z7t6mrAWmhyphenhyphen5iI4OVY9nVZXuc7mJNyLgVxO9QxNvO9lDdZBdAWoZId0yKrfuNzJ1n9T6A/s1600/airplane03.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
For the airplane, I think the original pattern used a DK weight (the pattern didn't specify) because they had 7 stitches per inch and the finished size was about 4.5 inches long. I used Red Heart Soft in navy, Loops & Threads Impeccable in claret and Vanna's Choice in beige. My finished airplane is 8 inches long. Much better for a baby.<br />
<br />
The pattern is super easy. It does lack a little in the directions but it's easy to figure out. It said it was crocheted in a continuous spiralling rows but I found it easy just to slip stitch at the end of my rows and chain two at the beginning of the next row.<br />
<br />
I haven't started the hat yet...that's next weekend's project.<br />
<br />
Too cute!whimzeenatorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07213529624865211437noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2035146188969819793.post-85708914449611749142013-05-05T16:51:00.001-05:002013-05-05T16:51:03.070-05:00Baby Parker Blanket<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

My neighbor is having a baby boy later in May :) so I started an afghan for them using <a href="http://shop.hobbylobby.com/yarn-needlework/yarn-by-brand/baby-bee-yarn/">Hobby Lobby's Baby Bee</a> yarn in Baby's Blue, Naked and Chocolate. I wanted to use a soft acrylic so the blankie could be tossed into the wash and not worried about. Go ahead and spit up on it...then toss it in to wash!<br />
<br />
I got a late start. The baby shower was yesterday and I only had 21 inches crocheted on the blue part. I want to have about 36 inches before I start the border. I did a quick corner to show how it will finish out before I wrapped it for the shower. I'm loving the color combo! AND it goes great with his room. YAY!!<br />
<br />
I felt terrible taking it back after the shower but she loved it! <br />
<br />
The blue section is just a granny square bordered in off white single crochets. The brown edging is #212 from The <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Crochet-Border-Designs-bySchapper/dp/B006FIC1D0">Complete Crochet Border Designs</a> by Linda Schapper.<br />

Something I'm not really proud of. I have an addiction. Yes. Me. I have an addiction that I can't quit. It's so bad that I think the thing I'm addicted to will be a permanent attachment soon if I don't make some changes quick.<br />
<br />
Maybe if I hurry up and admit it I can work out a compromise because I just can't quit it. I'm addicted to my Nook.<br />
<br />
Last June I bought myself (and my son and mother) a Nook. I was thinking it was just a small e-tablet I could surf the net with and MAYBE...MAYBE read a book every now and then. See, I've never been much of a reader. Whenever I read a book with real pages, I fall asleep. Even magazines. I fall asleep. When my son was a child and I would read him a story, I would wake up with a sharp little elbow jabbing my ribs and a sweet voice that was suppose to be asleep "Mommy! You fell asleep again! Finish the story!!" see. reading and me never mixed.<br />
<br />
NOW!!! I can read a book on my Nook and NOT fall asleep!!! Not sure why but who cares! BUT I'm reading non-stop. Book after book. Day in and day out. When I finish one book...I start another. I keep my queue full because I've got to have something when I finish.<br />
<br />
BUT there's an unwelcome side effect (or two) from reading so much. I'm not getting any knitting or crocheting done. Haven't even been interested in doing any. O.M.G!!! Did I just say that?!? And, I've had to get a pair of glasses just for computer use. Hmmmmm...<br />
<br />
Wish there was a way I could knit and read at the same time but I'm just not that talented or coordinated. <br />
<br />
Then last Friday, I was lucky enough to get to order some Wollmeise in some FABULOUS colors. I think my creative juices might be reigniting. I was able to procure some Lila Lundmilla and Neptune Lite from <a href="http://www.theloopyewe.com/" target="_blank">The Loopy Ewe</a>. Then <a href="http://www.sundarayarn.com/" target="_blank">Sundara Yarn</a> had a close-out and I snatched some <span class="fbPhotosPhotoCaption" id="fbPhotoSnowliftCaption" tabindex="0"><span class="hasCaption">Water Studies 117. </span></span><br />

<div class="" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<br />
Hooray for the mailman!! He brought me new knitting and crocheting books this weekend. I had a nice heavy box waiting for me on my desk this morning with four new books. Just after a quick thumb through, ideas are racing through my head. AAAAHHHH!!! There is not enough time in the day to do it all!! :)<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61-04UYr2OL._SL500_AA300_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61-04UYr2OL._SL500_AA300_.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
First, I got<a href="http://www.amazon.com/Pop-Knitting-Motifs-Using-Stitch/dp/1596687827" target="_blank"> Pop Knitting by Britt-Marie Christoffersson</a>. O.M.G. I'm loving this!!! Great pictures. Great instructions. Simple layout. BUT. BUT!! OH THE IDEAS!! She's got some really cool, edgy stuff. I'm loving the slip stitch and stockinette patterns and the holey knitting. I can't wait to try this. Must hurry to get other projects finished so I can start some new things from this wonderful idea book!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.examiner.com/sites/default/files/styles/large_lightbox/hash/ca/f0/granny%20square%20book%20by%20hubert.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="193" src="http://www.examiner.com/sites/default/files/styles/large_lightbox/hash/ca/f0/granny%20square%20book%20by%20hubert.jpg" width="200" /> </a><a href="http://www.examiner.com/sites/default/files/styles/large_lightbox/hash/ca/f0/granny%20square%20book%20by%20hubert.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"> </a></div>
<a href="http://voguepatterns.mccall.com/filebin/images/product_images/Full/S1342.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://voguepatterns.mccall.com/filebin/images/product_images/Full/S1342.jpg" width="189" /></a>Second is <a href="http://www.amazon.com/The-Granny-Square-Book-Techniques/dp/1589236386/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1338301306&sr=1-1" target="_blank">The Granny Square Book by Margaret Hubert</a>. If you don't know by now ... I LOVE GRANNY SQUARES!!! There's 75 granny square patterns plus some projects. What I love about this book besides the fabulous patterns that will make fantastic things is the book construction. Why can't all knitting/crocheting pattern books be like this? It's a hard back book with an interior spiral spine so it opens easily when working on a pattern. There are some great floral granny squares that will definitely be used toward another one of my way-cool <a href="http://thismonkeyknits.blogspot.com/2011/07/fo-boho-scarf.html" target="_blank">Boho Scarves</a>.<br />
<br />
<br />
The other two books I got are <a href="http://www.amazon.com/100-Flowers-Knit-Crochet-Embellishing/dp/0312538340/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1338301826&sr=1-1" target="_blank">100 Flowers to Knit and Crochet (Lesley Stanfield)</a> and <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Book-Crochet-Border-Designs/dp/1579909140/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1338301860&sr=1-1" target="_blank">The Complete Book of Crochet Border Designs (Linda P Schapper).</a>
I haven't had a chance to thumb through them yet but the appear to be
great resources with awesome pictures and instructions. I've got to have
good pictures and easy instructions and these two books look like they have it. The flowers are sooooo cute! They'll be great embellishments. There are even leaves and acorns and radishes AND ASPARAGUS! besides morning glories and peonies and lavendar and roses and...and... and... Do you get the picture? :) And in the crochet borders...there must be 300 classic border motifs! HOG HEAVEN!!! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51zRjxwILiL._SL500_AA300_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51zRjxwILiL._SL500_AA300_.jpg" width="200" /></a>Do I have to work now? Can't I just curl up in the supply closet or empty office somewhere and look at my new books and try things out? I want to make granny squares! I want to make flowers! I want to do some pop knitting!! </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>I want! I want! I want!!!!</b></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
::pout::</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51zRjxwILiL._SL500_AA300_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>

Usually an incredible stash of magnificent proportion. We never buy just ONE skein of yarn...we always get 2-3 skeins of that color just in case we want to knit an octopus a sweater. You never know what you will need! It's always better to err on the side of caution and get extra skeins.<br />
<br />
Well today, it happened. With ALL my tubs of squishy goodness I call my stash and all my "hidden" stashes in baskets and drawers and suitcases and bookcase shelves and in/out trays on my desk, I ran out of yarn for a project. Yes, the unthinkable happened. Go ahead, pick your jaw up off the keyboard. It's going to be okay... I think... I hope... I pray.<br />
<br />
See, I'm trying to finish up a <a href="http://thismonkeyknits.blogspot.com/2012/03/baby-granny-blanket.html" target="_blank">baby granny afghan</a> I started back in March. It was going to be for a worker in the deli at the office but then she left and we've lost touch. But then my new neighbors across the street are preggers so I thought... PERFECT! I've got plenty of time to finish it. Guess what. She had a bouncing little boy this weekend. UH OH!!! Baby blanket had been put on the back burner and I only had 30 squares completed out of the required 81. ARGH!!!!!<br />
<br />
Time to reassess. <br />
<br />
Using 81 squares is going to make this blankie about 55 inches square (9x9 with 4-inch border.) That's big. SOOOOOOOO now I think I'm going to make it an 8x8 with a 3-4 inch border requiring only 64 squares. That's do-able because I've already got 30 squares done AND another 30 center squares done. There is hope. Finished size will be about 36 inches square plus the border. Plenty big.<br />
<br />
I was cruising right along this evening adding the white around all the color squares. Got 14 blue and yellow squares finished. YAY!!! I could have this done by next weekend. Moved on to the green squares but when I got to the 13th square, I noticed that my white yarn was disappearing. O.O NO!!!! Very carefully, I started the 14th square watching the end of the yarn quickly approaching my hook as I crocheted around the square. <i>Will I have enough? Can I make it to the end of this row? </i>Those are questions that always haunt knitters and crocheters. I MADE IT! I got the 14th green square done...BUT ...BUT ...shit. shit. shit. dammit. I still have pink and purple squares to add white rows to. I looked in my project bag. (Yes, I have a bag for every project. I'm anal that way.) There was no more white yarn anywhere. Not even in all the tubs and scattered stash. dammit!!!! <br />
<br />
Guess you know what that means now. Means I have to go buy more yarn. shit. What a torturous thing to do...to go buy more yarn. The horror! The atrocity! The unthinkable agony! damn.<br />
<br />
Needless to say, progress has come to a screeching halt. I can't even sew squares together cuz I ain't got any off-white worsted weight yarn. ::pout::<br />
<br />
I laid out the squares I have so far to see how it looks and measure. It got JackCat's approval. Thank goodness! I'd hate for him to disapprove. It's not a pretty sight. I'm anxious to get it all seamed together and get the border on it. I think it's going to be really cute.<br />
<br />

<br />
I am such a slacker lately. I think my knitting mojo is sinking. Not sure what is up with that. I have been crocheting. It just seems nothing is exciting me right now. I know! That's sacrilege!!! A yarnie with no mojo.<br />
<br />
My hooks have been busy making and designing bags. AND I've been making Queen Anne lace pieces for my mom. It's just that none of this sparks my drive. ugh.<br />
<br />
There are lots of UFOs in my bags...a baby afghan, 2 sweaters, 3 bags, and LOTS of ideas of things I want to make. I would really like to enter in the county fair this year but I just don't know what. ugh.<br />
<br />
blah.<br />
<br />
Any help is appreciated.whimzeenatorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07213529624865211437noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2035146188969819793.post-3343988852694831562012-04-14T12:12:00.000-05:002012-12-03T19:27:48.722-06:00FO: Spring Fling BagI LOVE THIS <a href="http://www.chocolatemintsinajar.com/craft/2010/08/flower-burst-handbag-free-pattern/" target="_blank">PATTERN</a>! <br />
It's a great cotton stash buster to make instead of washcloths. PLUS...the color combinations are just infinite! I'm looking at what all I have in my stash and how I can mix it up.The original pattern has it as all one color. BOOOOOOOOOOOORING!!!<br />
<br />
<br />
One thing I did after the fact was cut a piece of plastic to the size of the bottom as an after-the-fact stiffener for the bottom of the purse. Next time, I'll make a more traditional stiff bottom.<br />
<br />
I wonder what color combo will be next. :D <br />
<br />
Wonder if I could sell these? Hmmmmmm.... How much could I sell them for?whimzeenatorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07213529624865211437noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2035146188969819793.post-91445535956156834492012-04-08T21:18:00.000-05:002012-04-08T21:18:33.567-05:00FO: Infrared Flower Burst Bag<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTrz3irP8SmYy3Z3OHcY1YuGR8YVhdftrH9ejCn0pH0ZuPaR2R7r-04yA3l0xUAgGL8fw0Vi6dRrOKsgR-AfSv3OuE6dHlGqCwrqFYzTSYbrBorw2nrCu4Mxe6nzu8OYSiOLKbqXGU3KQ/s1600/bag03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTrz3irP8SmYy3Z3OHcY1YuGR8YVhdftrH9ejCn0pH0ZuPaR2R7r-04yA3l0xUAgGL8fw0Vi6dRrOKsgR-AfSv3OuE6dHlGqCwrqFYzTSYbrBorw2nrCu4Mxe6nzu8OYSiOLKbqXGU3KQ/s400/bag03.jpg" width="300" /></a>I was searching for some crocheted flowers yesterday and stumbled across this adorable free pattern from <a href="http://www.chocolatemintsinajar.com/craft/2010/08/flower-burst-handbag-free-pattern/" target="_blank">Chocolate Mints in a Jar... Flower Burst Handbag</a>. I LOVE IT!<br />
<br />
So I grabbed some cotton I had in my stash...<a href="http://www.lionbrand.com/yarns/kitchen.htm" target="_blank">Lion Cotton</a> in Poppy Red, Orchid and Purple. HOT colors!! :)<br />
<br />
Let me tell you...this is a great little pattern. Fast. Simple. Fun. and I'm done! I started it yesterday evening and finished it today.<br />
<br />
I did make one adjustment. The pattern called for 42 chain stitches to make the handles. It was too long. I chained 28 and did four rows instead of three. <br />
<br />
Finished size is about 10 x 2 x 12.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7j-F85eWObT6cuWWeLZcJzJzsjI_SZm3JswrBkHT1zu80-6E4aOm0I9IXNJONcbuU6efWGFExUI5-aUPcRDonFZpMYffux0m__jDjh4bX539Ma3ulEnI4Pv08t7Rgy8zctb-isTCJkvM/s1600/bag05.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7j-F85eWObT6cuWWeLZcJzJzsjI_SZm3JswrBkHT1zu80-6E4aOm0I9IXNJONcbuU6efWGFExUI5-aUPcRDonFZpMYffux0m__jDjh4bX539Ma3ulEnI4Pv08t7Rgy8zctb-isTCJkvM/s400/bag05.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
And it's Jack Cat approved. :)<br />
<br />
I think I'll start another one. Maybe turquoise and apple green. SQUEEEE!whimzeenatorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07213529624865211437noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2035146188969819793.post-40753387607701595972012-04-08T10:16:00.000-05:002012-04-08T10:16:08.956-05:00FO: Lady Chadwick Cap UpdateA couple of weeks ago I finished test knitting a new pattern, <a href="http://thismonkeyknits.blogspot.com/2012/03/fo-lady-chadwick-cap.html" target="_blank">Lady Chadwick Cap</a>, for a friend of mine. It wasn't totally finished...it still needed the finished button. Buttons set the whole mood for your knits. You want it to be just right, especially after you've spent hours, days AND years knitting or crocheting something. Again, I had a problem deciding what to which button. There are SOOOO MANY to choose from!! :(<br />
<br />
First we looked at feathers. Then silk flowers. Then combination feather, flowers and buttons. And finally buttons. Oh man! The buttons!! o.O<br />
<br />
We looked at a neat distressed wooden button with simple peach and teal flowers painted on it ($7). Nice. It looked good with it but it wasn't a post button. There was a really nice brass button with Celtic knot cut outs ($8). It was really nice with the cap. THEN we saw a black button with pink and teal inlay in a flower design. Oh my. $15. OH MY! DAMN!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSEht7_5MoU1vnlCTG1JCytKb5EGBc-YHho3hcEMTjHau0qRED2_6XqcUjs3VxX7c6LUUcsKbGZEpgj8FR1sBk-O5UYDBnMD-QV0idm6eIqsrXjrCTo5qhqJlVCJtmR1jYZS0x1M5rlWY/s1600/ladychadwick13.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSEht7_5MoU1vnlCTG1JCytKb5EGBc-YHho3hcEMTjHau0qRED2_6XqcUjs3VxX7c6LUUcsKbGZEpgj8FR1sBk-O5UYDBnMD-QV0idm6eIqsrXjrCTo5qhqJlVCJtmR1jYZS0x1M5rlWY/s400/ladychadwick13.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Well, thank goodness I had a 50%-off Jo-Ann's coupon because it was the perfect button! At least I think it is. :P <br />

Have I told you that? He is an AWESOME DUDE that brings me wonderful things to my mailbox ...well...most of the time. Yesterday was a happy mail day!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgK2KD4qzk-7pGtF-dkhWklUYdhOXx73BLPopVL5FrPhrpUVnVIMvIckxKvBje9LShlG-CvcIBBsjFGgNASePI9hll2sVWuwDOY06nqF2YqtCxnYon43d66r0zRPRK64Llq8nJdCggvQX4/s1600/sparkleyarn.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgK2KD4qzk-7pGtF-dkhWklUYdhOXx73BLPopVL5FrPhrpUVnVIMvIckxKvBje9LShlG-CvcIBBsjFGgNASePI9hll2sVWuwDOY06nqF2YqtCxnYon43d66r0zRPRK64Llq8nJdCggvQX4/s400/sparkleyarn.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
First... I got SPARKLES!!!! I got beautiful sparkly yarn from <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/forbiddenwoolery" target="_blank">Forbidden Woolery</a>. It's FABULOUS! plus... IT SPARKLES!!! Did I say it sparkles? Well, just in case I haven't told you yet...IT SPARKLES!!! The color is wonderful. I'm participating in an Olympic KAL this summer. Now I just have to figure out what to knit with such wonderful SPARKLY yarn.<br />
<br />
Then there was a second package in my overflowing mailbox. It was from <a href="http://www.dizzysheep.com/" target="_blank">DizzySheep</a>. JOY! They had a "spin-off" a couple of weeks ago. (It's sort of like a Woot-Off but with fiber.) Instead of offering a "Bag of Crap" like on Woot...DizzySheep offers a "Bag of Knit". It's like a mystery grab bag for $10. No telling what you'll get...yarn...roving...needles. I snatched up a couple bags. It's always exciting to see what comes in the brown paper bag. I'm always nervous about what color I'm going to get. Drum roll, please..........<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqvwC55rOxNbxw_XbvVHXnN7BoEN35LEHVern3yLbGf8lGyD6h2j_bhXACeZsYtv-WQPUN1b_HR-GSRS5nrmjOjxdPLBJfGL0sw3YWnzGtaaJHknPxD2a5igvgOE68j9eHT8QVZZwVxKg/s1600/dizzy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqvwC55rOxNbxw_XbvVHXnN7BoEN35LEHVern3yLbGf8lGyD6h2j_bhXACeZsYtv-WQPUN1b_HR-GSRS5nrmjOjxdPLBJfGL0sw3YWnzGtaaJHknPxD2a5igvgOE68j9eHT8QVZZwVxKg/s400/dizzy.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Score! I got two skins of <a href="http://www.berroco.com/shade_cards/linsey_sh.html" target="_blank">Berroco Linsey</a> in Shell colorway (on the left). I adore anything Berroco! In the second bag was two skeins of <a href="http://www.spinnery.com/shop/products.php?cat=12" target="_blank">Green Mountain Spinnery's Cotton Comfort</a> in Mint colorway (on the right). I've never had in Green Mountain before. This will make a great baby sweater I think. It's not as soft to the first touch as I like...it's a cotton and wool blend.<br />
<br />
Has anybody used the Green Mountain Cotton Comfort? What did you make?whimzeenatorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07213529624865211437noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2035146188969819793.post-66813135542601434692012-03-30T17:36:00.002-05:002012-03-30T17:36:40.611-05:00End-of-Month Wrap Up: MarchMarch had my fingers busy!! Like most knitters and crocheters, we can not work on just one project at a time. It's not possible! No matter how hard we try, we've got at least 2-3-4-5-6-7 UFOs (unfinished objects) in our project bag at a time. <div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This month was no different. I had good intentions. HONEST! I was going to get the back of my <a href="http://thismonkeyknits.blogspot.com/2012/02/im-knitting-me-sweater.html" target="_blank">Victor-Victoria Sweater</a> finished. HA! I think I knitted about 2 inches on it. I'm almost finished with the first ball of yarn with about 1-inch left to go before a pattern change at 17 inches...UNLESS I decide to add another 1-2 inches to make it a tad longer. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXGa5ctZiAX6yYYFKuEzCDNTaUKIDRl1yRrHYO2b8nCfA4qCP1RFPusXR9jEQBwh44ltBN188B2Vhl6bGtBnH7JI7pPrujQKWjTOnqVRewG6IFxvFAtDoIzQ2BFOfua8gs85GvY-HIMDc/s1600/Victor+Victoria04.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXGa5ctZiAX6yYYFKuEzCDNTaUKIDRl1yRrHYO2b8nCfA4qCP1RFPusXR9jEQBwh44ltBN188B2Vhl6bGtBnH7JI7pPrujQKWjTOnqVRewG6IFxvFAtDoIzQ2BFOfua8gs85GvY-HIMDc/s400/Victor+Victoria04.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Then there is the <a href="http://thismonkeyknits.blogspot.com/2012/02/crochet-day.html" target="_blank">Canopy Cardi</a> I am crocheting. I haven't worked on it much at all this month. I got about 6 rows done this week...I won't get it completed this year at that rate!! There's about 15 more inches to go before a pattern change. :( I've only crocheted 5 inches. I'm such a slacker!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYswS0VBd4F6l6I1dtjshxHSeNuklwtGMoF3-ZtOu1x59u0Yf5e6H91ZP0GOcRHn91JXnqvxBRR5grW5uq7lp14ptmMUCIgxjir1SUObtEGeZ493oua5XS0qW4X1E6zr3kwAk2wr0WX2g/s1600/canopy05.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYswS0VBd4F6l6I1dtjshxHSeNuklwtGMoF3-ZtOu1x59u0Yf5e6H91ZP0GOcRHn91JXnqvxBRR5grW5uq7lp14ptmMUCIgxjir1SUObtEGeZ493oua5XS0qW4X1E6zr3kwAk2wr0WX2g/s400/canopy05.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
BUT...to make up for not getting much done on my two sweaters, I finished TWO projects and cast on another!! ROFLMAO! The first UFO for March was a TOP SECRET need-to-know project. All I can tell you is that it was squishy soft and made with lots of love.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
My second finished project was a test knit for a wonderful friend and fantastic designer. She has created a beautiful Jane Austen-esque cap called <a href="http://thismonkeyknits.blogspot.com/2012/03/fo-lady-chadwick-cap.html" target="_blank">Lady Chadwick Cap</a>. I just love it! I used Louisa Harding's Kashmir Aran. mmm mmmm good!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjsU2t0w_H6paH5f6H3kE_H8yTL5zC6CQxZ56s9_-Y1AvxO28rVFLMzNgWqgAt_Ld3NR934aSPN0ZLSI2w7LxERpEROJ1MTVwP0LlkF95KfBVpWSNzkGkibgRRhInlPuNCSAEQafAVeiI/s1600/ladychadwick04.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="331" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjsU2t0w_H6paH5f6H3kE_H8yTL5zC6CQxZ56s9_-Y1AvxO28rVFLMzNgWqgAt_Ld3NR934aSPN0ZLSI2w7LxERpEROJ1MTVwP0LlkF95KfBVpWSNzkGkibgRRhInlPuNCSAEQafAVeiI/s400/ladychadwick04.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Then there was the NEW cast on...a <a href="http://thismonkeyknits.blogspot.com/2012/03/baby-granny-blanket.html" target="_blank">Baby Granny Blanket</a>. I've crocheted about 30 squares so far with about 50 more to go. WHAT HAVE I DONE TO MYSELF!?!?! Think of all those ends that will need weaving in!!! o.O Oh well, it will look wonderful. It was originally intended for one expecting mom in my building but now I'm thinking it's for my new expecting neighbor. We'll see. I might just end up making two. O.O</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9YR6u8uN4StTXfbLkP6EGLFeGUc1LzK5Kujo-fDAoRBMj-E8kszlYX3GBXw5_UOREaYq8O6MW9a9Vy4M4I-u83ZdF6z6Mtz9pQxqXsjS1i8ZBW7Uhdu-4AF0c0YGrIP4sJQGS5FhfQNk/s1600/baby02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="118" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9YR6u8uN4StTXfbLkP6EGLFeGUc1LzK5Kujo-fDAoRBMj-E8kszlYX3GBXw5_UOREaYq8O6MW9a9Vy4M4I-u83ZdF6z6Mtz9pQxqXsjS1i8ZBW7Uhdu-4AF0c0YGrIP4sJQGS5FhfQNk/s400/baby02.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Guess you can say March blew in like a knitting frenzied lion and will definitely be going out like a relaxing knitted woolly lamb!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>whimzeenatorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07213529624865211437noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2035146188969819793.post-51260893293216660142012-03-25T22:22:00.004-05:002012-03-25T22:22:59.672-05:00FO: Lady Chadwick CapIt's finished! AND in one week!! I think that's a new record for me.<br />
<br />
It's a new pattern by <a href="http://www.knitpicks.com/cfPatterns/IDP/IDP_Pattern_List.cfm?id=K00323" target="_blank">Andrea</a>, a Jane Austen-esque cap pattern called <a href="http://thismonkeyknits.blogspot.com/2012/03/test-knit-lady-chadwick-cap.html" target="_blank">Lady Chadwick Cap</a> that I tested for her. It is wonderful! She has designed another winner!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3wimphie0uQ9XOB19TKm_RPbPhdBIVoJ6P8G4uM4lIQGPyU1_eqE2KzHByDB91FpBjHRo8qT30ekEe9ALQak_Xm56043weiKkCtR7suD0CxYtuWxveYzJZ_ys5tQ-X9LSZuMsCsFjk3g/s1600/ladychadwick01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="303" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3wimphie0uQ9XOB19TKm_RPbPhdBIVoJ6P8G4uM4lIQGPyU1_eqE2KzHByDB91FpBjHRo8qT30ekEe9ALQak_Xm56043weiKkCtR7suD0CxYtuWxveYzJZ_ys5tQ-X9LSZuMsCsFjk3g/s400/ladychadwick01.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />I used scrumptious <a href="http://www.knittingfever.com/c/yarn/louisa-harding-kashmir-aran/" target="_blank">Louisa Harding Kashmir Aran</a>. with US 9s for the cable band and US 8s for the cap portion. My gauge is so goofy. I wish they had an US 8.5. US 9s were too loose and 8s...well 8s might be tighter than I prefer (It's better than the mini tambini... <a href="http://thismonkeyknits.blogspot.com/2011/02/twisted-tambini-is-fini.html" target="_blank">ROFLMAO</a>!!) The pattern has easy to memorize repeats. It makes a fabulous fabric and texture.<br />
<br />
Time for a trip to Jo-Ann's to look for a large post button.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhR47t80mPuF4CnBSuN31f9YCzTH7P1GyZaS-7MaXUl6J06xXFVv5Z6dLDeamM96sMcu4H2DSmTKUiuPxUzK4YLL7juRG4f2dRS4sU55FEzz275AJVQf4CtZ4Ky8vVIGmtUZ2IVFzDW-aw/s1600/ladychadwick02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="330" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhR47t80mPuF4CnBSuN31f9YCzTH7P1GyZaS-7MaXUl6J06xXFVv5Z6dLDeamM96sMcu4H2DSmTKUiuPxUzK4YLL7juRG4f2dRS4sU55FEzz275AJVQf4CtZ4Ky8vVIGmtUZ2IVFzDW-aw/s400/ladychadwick02.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
You know what? It's pretty damn hard to take a decent picture of yourself modeling a hat. Nothing flattering happens. I'll get a better picture after I get the button.<br />

Lady Chadwick Cap. It is wonderful!<br />
<br />
I just started it this weekend. It's a fantastic pattern...and easy! It's got a gorgeous cable band (I'm a sucker for cables) that buttons.<br />
<br />
Yarn for this project is <a href="http://www.knittingfever.com/c/yarn/louisa-harding-kashmir-aran/" target="_blank">Louisa Harding Kashmir Aran</a>. mmmmmmmmmmmm!!! FABULOUS! It's a beautiful teal.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNkAe8tA1fK80nAWxyNG9vKCGybjSxTWLA6QAyBxLedsBcrTpf7_UrJzj1iLOYJYLHhF8yI1ni4I84I9vL900LU87ZLsFapMR517u6ecx8C0veVlfRc34xUEidWJ5EHOmzh4FxWCLfdVo/s1600/ladychadwick01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="258" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNkAe8tA1fK80nAWxyNG9vKCGybjSxTWLA6QAyBxLedsBcrTpf7_UrJzj1iLOYJYLHhF8yI1ni4I84I9vL900LU87ZLsFapMR517u6ecx8C0veVlfRc34xUEidWJ5EHOmzh4FxWCLfdVo/s400/ladychadwick01.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
My gauge is always goofy. I had to frog the a couple of times before I got it right. Ended up using US 9s for the headband. Got going on the crown portion but then I was TOO loose. GEEZ!! Go figure. LOL! Now I have frogged the crown and dropped down to US 8s. This will be interesting. Hope I don't screw it up again. :P<br />
<br />
It's going to take about 200 yards...so about 3 balls of the Kashmir Aran. I'll have just enough in my stash for a pair of matching mittens/fingerless. HINT!! HINT!! Get busy, Andrea!whimzeenatorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07213529624865211437noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2035146188969819793.post-25372117842636784382012-03-17T15:22:00.001-05:002012-03-17T15:23:39.312-05:00Baby Granny BlanketI know...I know...I already have two projects on cast on that are NOT finished and here I go again starting ANOTHER project. With all this wonderful yarn around, it is really hard not to. The problem is getting them all finished.<br />
<br />
This week I got a WILD hair and thought I would make a baby blanket for one of the girls that works in our deli that makes THE BEST grilled cheese sandwich in the whole world. She's always taking care of us and giving extra. So I gathered up some acrylic yarn from our donated boxes and started a miniature granny square blanket for her. She's due in June/July so I should be pretty good to go.<br />
<br />
It's going to be done in pink, green, yellow, purple and blue and trimmed in white. I'll came around with a striped border in those colors... something like this...maybe...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUXACZNO8JguQ7RQG_z7HnSaxP-meYfRZslF6cMX8c2POONNZ7DrqhIz8Us2fLhG6rFnmrFncKbwiNItvweaQGYqXY2NaMLiceqZ_x8JOMASx908l7lKVvtCBm2FSzI4VJvctcx1OeBis/s1600/babyblanket.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUXACZNO8JguQ7RQG_z7HnSaxP-meYfRZslF6cMX8c2POONNZ7DrqhIz8Us2fLhG6rFnmrFncKbwiNItvweaQGYqXY2NaMLiceqZ_x8JOMASx908l7lKVvtCBm2FSzI4VJvctcx1OeBis/s320/babyblanket.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I'll need 81 squares (17 pink and 16 each of blue, green, yellow and blue). They're measuring about 4.5" square so that should end up a nice sized 40x40 baby blanket, or there abouts. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9YR6u8uN4StTXfbLkP6EGLFeGUc1LzK5Kujo-fDAoRBMj-E8kszlYX3GBXw5_UOREaYq8O6MW9a9Vy4M4I-u83ZdF6z6Mtz9pQxqXsjS1i8ZBW7Uhdu-4AF0c0YGrIP4sJQGS5FhfQNk/s1600/baby02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="117" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9YR6u8uN4StTXfbLkP6EGLFeGUc1LzK5Kujo-fDAoRBMj-E8kszlYX3GBXw5_UOREaYq8O6MW9a9Vy4M4I-u83ZdF6z6Mtz9pQxqXsjS1i8ZBW7Uhdu-4AF0c0YGrIP4sJQGS5FhfQNk/s400/baby02.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
So far I have made 30 squares. They go pretty fast. I make up a bunch of colored centers and then come back and do the white and the ends.<br />
<br />
We'll see how it turns out.whimzeenatorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07213529624865211437noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2035146188969819793.post-29890089666752993972012-02-25T18:04:00.001-06:002012-02-25T18:06:35.388-06:00Button! Button! Who's Got the Button!?I need buttons!!<br />
<br />
If you read my posted yesterday, you know I'm knitting myself a sweater. It's my <a href="http://thismonkeyknits.blogspot.com/2012/02/im-knitting-me-sweater.html" target="_blank">Victor Victoria sweater from Knitty Fall 2010</a>. I'm using <a href="http://www.caron.com/color_cards/cc_simplysoft.html" target="_blank">Caron's Simply Soft in Ocean </a>which is sort of a teal blue. My sweater needs 3/4" buttons. So today, I ran to Jo-Ann's with my 20%-off coupon. OMG! Who know I would be stumped. There are TOO many choices. I can't decide!! Each button is great and changes the sweater. HELP!<br />
<br />
You know that buttons can make or break an sweater. I know y'all have opinions so I'm setting up a vote to see which buttons I should use. (Click on the picture to enlarge and scroll through them.)<br />
<br />
Here's what I found...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeZZc7-1k3bkch2ZMN9LK_o8RKHWmv4X-2WlW4oLS2Sgz-5VUSi5JCHWWraNoaZRXYVTPCfmqZlNs2hI4lYzswgvWFouURoYf9gF7vkEZlNPOQ12e0I3ghda2MLomPihrReezhgMVZ6iI/s1600/6+buttons.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeZZc7-1k3bkch2ZMN9LK_o8RKHWmv4X-2WlW4oLS2Sgz-5VUSi5JCHWWraNoaZRXYVTPCfmqZlNs2hI4lYzswgvWFouURoYf9gF7vkEZlNPOQ12e0I3ghda2MLomPihrReezhgMVZ6iI/s400/6+buttons.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
#1 is a brushed silver plump button with a center dimple. It has a back post.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjladftgARKJBwGLrjsEaHI48O2yNDZm7cWLQ92vXcl8Py984PqtGCmRXX23lTjlf2UNHkK3vP4zTuxj4tlj1sip3cNX182SMWbUdq9HaEKhAmgiWbWSusVki2wZr84x0vC6tcJVDMdGrw/s1600/silverdonut.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjladftgARKJBwGLrjsEaHI48O2yNDZm7cWLQ92vXcl8Py984PqtGCmRXX23lTjlf2UNHkK3vP4zTuxj4tlj1sip3cNX182SMWbUdq9HaEKhAmgiWbWSusVki2wZr84x0vC6tcJVDMdGrw/s320/silverdonut.jpg" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
#2 is wooden with light blue, peach and light green flowers. It's a 1-inch button rather than the required 3/4-inch.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGjiOsN9SQSqv3TVbnlqZ4-70neaji1TVE9_98J2x2ya9fe95Onys-pGY1dvcZ5BJEou1ZrJE8FIapokWSGZpKYHayhfO-cSerM4_-VEmBWsjtvuPyUG_O8I4ttTqdaH863bkduzwwk4E/s1600/flowerbutton.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGjiOsN9SQSqv3TVbnlqZ4-70neaji1TVE9_98J2x2ya9fe95Onys-pGY1dvcZ5BJEou1ZrJE8FIapokWSGZpKYHayhfO-cSerM4_-VEmBWsjtvuPyUG_O8I4ttTqdaH863bkduzwwk4E/s320/flowerbutton.jpg" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
#3 is a simple brass button with a larger center hole. The post is recessed and protrudes in the back.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjs0IgKHdCtksdc877fIZdSE9Rqi1fvZrEL55L5oI2QPsBDO5Gzyob7sB4jzbTAozy4_73E4LCyAt66Rt1BQyox6w5xJpNOxY6WibjpMjETv2BsGDkl6nZNJRyysBfGU0_VvKBh8monGu0/s1600/brassbutton.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="319" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjs0IgKHdCtksdc877fIZdSE9Rqi1fvZrEL55L5oI2QPsBDO5Gzyob7sB4jzbTAozy4_73E4LCyAt66Rt1BQyox6w5xJpNOxY6WibjpMjETv2BsGDkl6nZNJRyysBfGU0_VvKBh8monGu0/s320/brassbutton.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
#4 was hard to photograph. It's not mother of pearl but resembles it. It has orange, perfect blue and maybe hints of turquoise.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2zeFEYVrG1bMIEfcpnNq4HII6xsCYecCCIHdT2xmKlKbjJxFZ8j_hyTaDOJzuIlnO4lKmColgYx4yZuAgtyKdjIFMNnFrH4hraG59MhimFa0JdjAPdOpn7-XkaJCGBXtAJwf0hnareXg/s1600/orangebluebutton.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2zeFEYVrG1bMIEfcpnNq4HII6xsCYecCCIHdT2xmKlKbjJxFZ8j_hyTaDOJzuIlnO4lKmColgYx4yZuAgtyKdjIFMNnFrH4hraG59MhimFa0JdjAPdOpn7-XkaJCGBXtAJwf0hnareXg/s320/orangebluebutton.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
#5 reminds me of a silver washer. Simple.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1NTwXhwW4rdQ35_ddcmnBnU4DDyt9s90dNOn-zvOfIOl3Bvu-PJ2fXRawFo7e3xl8kiRr3MaPZxxyzfTBjNF_Fy3M7UPPbicZYdEfKGBJZJ5wtnIK2qJDlTdB3c-uClRMjVDD5fIkKhc/s1600/silverwasherbutton.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1NTwXhwW4rdQ35_ddcmnBnU4DDyt9s90dNOn-zvOfIOl3Bvu-PJ2fXRawFo7e3xl8kiRr3MaPZxxyzfTBjNF_Fy3M7UPPbicZYdEfKGBJZJ5wtnIK2qJDlTdB3c-uClRMjVDD5fIkKhc/s320/silverwasherbutton.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
#6 is a larger red button with blue/navy streaks and flecks of white and off green.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRx_TcVIDQ0Opjb8wg-X06v-dpAduLpZyZcwqqDJdIF0CG988W3CgtR6B2wQC_Pps4rqvbHZGqi1Wz_Z9EH0D0xjrYQfT-JcFTRLLXMhP04DEFcQecWTUdEXm_5qpX6xWyIVpnmBOZcjA/s1600/redbutton.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRx_TcVIDQ0Opjb8wg-X06v-dpAduLpZyZcwqqDJdIF0CG988W3CgtR6B2wQC_Pps4rqvbHZGqi1Wz_Z9EH0D0xjrYQfT-JcFTRLLXMhP04DEFcQecWTUdEXm_5qpX6xWyIVpnmBOZcjA/s320/redbutton.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
So there you have it. See what I mean!! Each button has a great affect on the sweater. The blue was really hard to capture in the picture. The light (even under the Ott Light) kept changing the blue.<br />
<br />
Please vote for your favorite. The voting buttons is at the top of the blog.<br />
<br />
I can't wait to see what you think.<br />whimzeenatorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07213529624865211437noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2035146188969819793.post-58534773796716824992012-02-24T23:27:00.000-06:002012-02-24T23:27:03.833-06:00I'm Knitting ME a Sweater!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEff10/images/victoriaALT1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEff10/images/victoriaALT1.jpg" width="212" /></a></div>
Yes, it's true! I'm actually knitting ME a sweater!! I can't wait to finish it. The texture of this pattern is wonderful. It's <a href="http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEff10/PATTvictoria.php" target="_blank">Knitty's Victoria sweater</a> from Fall 2010.AND it comes in plus sizes!!!<br />
<br />
I think I'm going to call it my Victor Victoria sweater. It is solid 2x2 moss stitch in worsted weight.<br />
<br />
Now don't have a conniption fit! I know I am a total yarn snob BUT in order to make a sweater that I can wash and wear and not go broke buying enough yarn to FIT me...I went with a cost effective yarn. Yes, I am using <a href="http://www.caron.com/color_cards/cc_simplysoft.html" target="_blank">Caron's Simply Soft in Ocean.</a> OK...pick your jaws up off the desk. It's not the end of the world. Hell did not freeze over. It's a beautiful color. And feels good, too. It's a good knit.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgERiwS-ZoB7Qoq8bu9YZ6xyPdz6xBr2LvG7pqHFs8tVGeciiHd3NdMtz2Yjcm7uq7MLw1MCJs4AqcAbJZK0jirecG4hbofPx43pI6ObL1MQkWVv1JxI1m4BJwQL-DIwDQOxHeSHg-5bOc/s1600/victoria01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgERiwS-ZoB7Qoq8bu9YZ6xyPdz6xBr2LvG7pqHFs8tVGeciiHd3NdMtz2Yjcm7uq7MLw1MCJs4AqcAbJZK0jirecG4hbofPx43pI6ObL1MQkWVv1JxI1m4BJwQL-DIwDQOxHeSHg-5bOc/s400/victoria01.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I've got most of the back done...just about to start the armhole shaping. That's just one skein (315 yards). It's going pretty fast. My goal is to have this finished by the Fall. At this rate...that's quite possible. I'm probably going to add 2-3 inches to the length. It should mess things up as long as I watch the button hole spacing...got to do a little figuring with my gauge.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjc1R5u8bGh_YXzy1ghVAhfDNCFLTlC29tN-fUyF0Cym5MP-hWri9GhJ7XpGz8R0Jh7FjrqlwiyOrHWJKbhj_fn6g6-49KanETS5IRKqBdf9ghl7V0fqC9IqDxc4Bqgl4DkYXeUDXSX1Q/s1600/victoria02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjc1R5u8bGh_YXzy1ghVAhfDNCFLTlC29tN-fUyF0Cym5MP-hWri9GhJ7XpGz8R0Jh7FjrqlwiyOrHWJKbhj_fn6g6-49KanETS5IRKqBdf9ghl7V0fqC9IqDxc4Bqgl4DkYXeUDXSX1Q/s400/victoria02.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
See! Isn't that just wonderful texture! It's a 4-row repeat that's pretty easy to memorize after 10-11 repeats! And actually, the drape is pretty nice, too. Nice body.<br />

<br />
<br />
It was FINALLY crochet guild day. See...I tried to go last week BUT for some reason they always have it on the 2nd Sunday of the month no matter if I show up on the 1st Sunday or not. Yes, I showed up last weekend and sat there for 15-20 minutes waiting (and crocheting) for everyone to show up. It took them SEVEN days to finally get here. It was well worth the wait! :P<br />
<br />
See...<a href="http://blog.thecrochetdude.com/" target="_blank">Drew Emborsky, The Crochet Dude</a>, was our special guest. He is an absolute hoot. He signed our <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Hug-Out-Leisure-Arts-5571/dp/1609002792/ref=sr_1_6?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1329111489&sr=1-6" target="_blank">books</a>. AND I got him to sign my "Big Blue Hook" -- Drats! Guess I need to buy a new one now for me to use. I even tortured him into a picture with me. Poor guy. He's a really neat person. Hope I didn't razz him too much but you know us monkeys. <br />

I crocheted several rows on my latest crochet project... <a href="http://www.crochetme.com/media/p/123949.aspx" target="_blank">The Monkey Canopy Cardi</a>. I'm using <a href="http://www.yarn.com/product/valley-yarns-charlemont/" target="_blank">Valley Yarns Charlemont</a> in Purple Passion. I'm figuring I will be at this project for at least the rest of the year. It's a GORGEOUS cardigan. So far the pattern isn't too bad. I'm nervous because I've never undertaken a project like this before. It's going to take about 7-8 skeins (493 yards each) to make it. DAMN!<br />

It's finished!! My <a href="http://thismonkeyknits.blogspot.com/2012/01/first-project-of-2012.html" target="_blank">first project of 2012</a> – Blossomy Scarf. I was one of the testers for the wonderful designer, <a href="http://www.knitpicks.com/cfPatterns/IDP/IDP_Pattern_List.cfm?id=K00347" target="_blank">MyDailyFiber</a>, and her BEAUTIFUL new crochet design, <a href="http://mydailyfiber.wordpress.com/2012/01/19/blossomy-scarf-pattern/" target="_blank">Blossomy Scarf</a>. It's a fantastic crochet pattern that EVERYONE should make.<br />
<br />
I used mmmmm<a href="http://www.malabrigoyarn.com/sub_yarn.php?id_sub_yarn=16" target="_blank">Malabrigo Ravelry Red</a> sock yarn and an F hook. This yarn is GORGEOUS! Besides being mmmmmmmmarvelous mmmmmMalabrigo, the colorway is FAAAAABULOUS! It makes a delicious fabric that feels like it melts in my hand. I can't wait to wear it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFsczj0m-iKDCHm6oo-fR2JG4PWTz0jwZw0ifOHPBeA6lhleedbWQ1ONSTWgp-JXpbCu4oypm0_ncL-Qmn2Z3FojLbfNyRSfCbKMAWMLGHs2-KYG_KmpSMu6T1BP3hsAU2vMBapU1EXdg/s1600/blossomy_08.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFsczj0m-iKDCHm6oo-fR2JG4PWTz0jwZw0ifOHPBeA6lhleedbWQ1ONSTWgp-JXpbCu4oypm0_ncL-Qmn2Z3FojLbfNyRSfCbKMAWMLGHs2-KYG_KmpSMu6T1BP3hsAU2vMBapU1EXdg/s400/blossomy_08.jpg" width="281" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The pattern calls for 400 yards of fingering weight yarn and a G hook. There's 440 yards on the Malabrigo sock yarn. I couldn't find my G hook so I used an F. The pattern is very easy. You make the motifs first and then the scarf. That part takes the longest but it is well worth it. <br />
<br />
It blocked out to +/-7 inches wide by about 90 inches long. That's perfect! I love my scarves long.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUeim5tid27U2FLnXWzkR6-69PX2awzHQotHnp3ZEwhnQO9hK4ANmbdZ6VMUkFR1deY9FxR1o2bL3_Lhu6ELW9iZjZNWV8CPem4wdnqhRXIucWHWb8G0MMDPeE_MeEVLXP8pP7J9NmYCw/s1600/blossomy_05.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUeim5tid27U2FLnXWzkR6-69PX2awzHQotHnp3ZEwhnQO9hK4ANmbdZ6VMUkFR1deY9FxR1o2bL3_Lhu6ELW9iZjZNWV8CPem4wdnqhRXIucWHWb8G0MMDPeE_MeEVLXP8pP7J9NmYCw/s400/blossomy_05.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I've got some Wollmeise in my stash. Wonder how that would work for another Blossomy Scarf? I just might have to make one and see!whimzeenatorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07213529624865211437noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2035146188969819793.post-82456710703426415922012-01-01T11:31:00.000-06:002012-01-01T19:50:51.719-06:00First Project of 2012<div style="color: orange; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><b>HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!</b></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIyfilH9tF_eVnvG8aVBNh7AVF4EzIHD4lVUFjYTnIzPH5zyLFwI5o4Uu-BO8NIvr4MsN3jpzXvOC3yovtWf8v59tUsx17lP39i5trgtWfC_nDFWGIOscjimO8q-nFDan6kqdSbWzovsU/s1600/blossomy_02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="382" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIyfilH9tF_eVnvG8aVBNh7AVF4EzIHD4lVUFjYTnIzPH5zyLFwI5o4Uu-BO8NIvr4MsN3jpzXvOC3yovtWf8v59tUsx17lP39i5trgtWfC_nDFWGIOscjimO8q-nFDan6kqdSbWzovsU/s400/blossomy_02.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
What a better way to start 2012 than with a new gorgeous project! I'm testing beautiful new crochet pattern called <a href="http://mydailyfiber.wordpress.com/2012/01/02/blossomy-a-new-pattern-coming-soon/#wpl-likebox" target="_blank">Blossomy </a>by <a href="http://www.knitpicks.com/cfPatterns/IDP/IDP_Pattern_List.cfm?id=K00347" target="_blank">Michelle Blohm</a>. She is so talented!!<br />
<br />
This new pattern is for a fingering weight crocheted scarf. I'm using mmmmm<a href="http://www.malabrigoyarn.com/sub_yarn.php?id_sub_yarn=16" target="_blank">Malabrigo Ravelry Red</a> sock yarn and an F-hook (cuz I couldn't find my G). You just need one skein (about 400 yards).<br />
<br />
Y'all need to watch for this pattern to hit <a href="http://www.knitpicks.com/" target="_blank">KnitPicks </a>and the internet soon! <br />
<br />
Hopefully I'll have this finished this week. I have to go back to work and that just really eats into my fiber time. BUT it's almost time for football! Got to gather up my project and grab the comfy chair to curl up and watch my boys beat the Titans and crochet.<br />
<br />
<div style="color: orange;">
<b>Wishing everyone a FABULOUS 2012 – I'm hoping for LOTS of CHANGE this year!!</b></div>whimzeenatorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07213529624865211437noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2035146188969819793.post-28555501986291009792011-12-29T13:37:00.000-06:002011-12-29T13:48:37.532-06:00FO: January Baby Sweater and Booties<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Voila! It's finished...and just in time!! I got the <a href="http://thismonkeyknits.blogspot.com/search/label/baby%20sweater" target="_blank">January Baby Sweater</a> AND Booties all finished...seamed and ends woven in and buttons sewn on. It's going to be hard to part with it but it's going to a good home. :)<br />

<br />
<br />
I ended up using +/-2 skeins of Crystal Palace's Panda Cotton in Royal Purple with 3mm DPNs. It's a wonderful blend of bamboo and cotton. Perfect for a Texas baby.<br />

<br />
<br />
The sweater is <a href="http://lankakomero.blogspot.com/">Lankakomero</a>'s <a href="http://www.saunalahti.fi/meriam1/ohjeet/babyoutfit.html">Baby Outfit.</a> I didn't make the pants that go with it as I had planned.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
And the ADORABLE booties were designed by a friend of mine. They are <a href="http://christineolsonoriginals.blogspot.com/2009/08/shirley-ruffled-baby-socks.html" target="_blank">Shirley Ruffle Baby Socks</a> from <a href="http://christineolsonoriginals.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Christine Olson Originals</a>. They are super easy and definitely a baby must-have!!! What can I say...They're just TOOOOOO CUTE!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyqZlFlZEcRWTe-mT5Ncjvxi9jWmkDAxEaCIHRWF7UJeJmco6vu3b0opbwSQeE3ahjjz4vTezgFCLd2hydgXRXDqGCglHxuq1qhV1yEfDkNkE7JQvWVpXmCf0Z_h1Qsn2cin46JyAv4f8/s1600/jbs_005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyqZlFlZEcRWTe-mT5Ncjvxi9jWmkDAxEaCIHRWF7UJeJmco6vu3b0opbwSQeE3ahjjz4vTezgFCLd2hydgXRXDqGCglHxuq1qhV1yEfDkNkE7JQvWVpXmCf0Z_h1Qsn2cin46JyAv4f8/s320/jbs_005.jpg" width="286" /></a></div>
<br />
So...NOW what do I do? <br />
<br />whimzeenatorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07213529624865211437noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2035146188969819793.post-67794542488831267242011-12-04T09:13:00.001-06:002011-12-04T09:21:43.665-06:00Almost Finished!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkF6h-jwTeyVQ0iXbB15Q7ClFImXg29F0oHec9xeNJkUCZF35DCVNhvxWXrHim6mHss0XTc29riIIlkeVW8CEJAFaAhyphenhyphenz3yJXSwBdHYkdPozKFVdsy-ZVz4vaeOqwFpYjDMsftTZ0hZnc/s1600/januarybaby02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="310" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkF6h-jwTeyVQ0iXbB15Q7ClFImXg29F0oHec9xeNJkUCZF35DCVNhvxWXrHim6mHss0XTc29riIIlkeVW8CEJAFaAhyphenhyphenz3yJXSwBdHYkdPozKFVdsy-ZVz4vaeOqwFpYjDMsftTZ0hZnc/s400/januarybaby02.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
YAY! The <a href="http://thismonkeyknits.blogspot.com/2011/10/january-baby.html" target="_blank">January Baby Sweater </a>is almost done!! It is blocking now. All that's left will be to sew up the side seams. This is a super easy pattern by <a href="http://lankakomero.blogspot.com/">Lankakomero</a>. There was only one place in the pattern for the.<a href="http://www.saunalahti.fi/meriam1/ohjeet/babyoutfit.html">Baby Outfit </a>that through me. It must have been in the translation. It said to "hop over" -- It must be a Finnish technique :P<br />
<br />
Now I'm working on matching booties and maybe a hat. We'll see how motivated I get about making the hat.<br />
<br />
I loved knitting with Crystal Palace's Panda Cotton. It's scrumptious!whimzeenatorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07213529624865211437noreply@blogger.com1
